SABEWHealthCare2023 has ended
The fellowship will give journalists a chance to take a deep dive with experts and veteran reporters into several hot-button issues, from the ongoing impact of Covid, to abortion, to changes in reimbursement for prescription drugs. The program kicks off on Thursday evening, March 23, with a welcome dinner and drinks at the National Press Club. On Friday, March 24, we will have a day of learning at Northwestern University’s Medill News Service, located in D.C. The sessions will conclude on Saturday, March 25, before noon.

Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez

Jazmin Orozco Rodriguez, Correspondent, is a reporter for KHN’s rural health desk based in Elko, Nevada. She explores the ways health issues affect communities in rural areas, including food security, climate change, and agriculture practices. Jazmin joined KHN from The Nevada Independent, where she focused on the state’s Latino and Native American communities. She completed the Poynter Koch Media and Journalism Fellowship in 2021 and was a fellow in the 2019 cohort of the NPR Next Generation Radio Bootcamp. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, in journalism and in Spanish literature and culture, from the University of Nevada-Reno.
